 Gangotri is the starting point for the journey to KedarTal. From Dehradun, Haridwar, and Rishikesh, Gangotri is easily accessible by any kind of transportation. This 18-kilometer hike from Gangotri is best completed in three days to allow for proper acclimatisation at high altitude. This hike can also be completed in two days.  In the summer, some sections of the trail may have leftover snow from the previous winter. The season then comes to an end due to the rain.
