Chadar Trek Details

Chadar is the thick sheet of ice that enslaves the ever-feral Zanskar river. The civilisation beyond the valley's canyons and ravines is engulfed in snow throughout the winter. In the event of an emergency, the ice on this river allows the residents of this remote valley to communicate with the rest of the world.

Chadar is not one of them. Trekking may be regarded a passing trend, but it is not one of them. It's the closest you'll come to walking on a glacier. All other treks pale in comparison to the amount of difficulty, excitement factor, and experience. The possibility of successfully completing a walk on these snow boulders is remarkable. It's not a hike; rather, it's a new kind of rejuvenation. And being a part of it necessitates a high level of caution and foresight.

From the middle of January to the end of February, the ideal months to enjoy the raw thrill of strolling on a frozen river are January and February. The trek lasts 9-10 days and demands a daily distance of 16-18 kilometres.
