Har Ki Dun Trek Best Time To Visit

The Har Ki Dun – Ruinsara Tal Trek can be completed in around eight months, which is one of its most appealing features.

Starting in the spring month of March, you can go through the summer until late June. The monsoon then arrives, closing the Govind Pashu Vihar Sanctuary for three months.

The hiking season therefore begins in September and runs until mid-January the following year. The highly snow-covered trail therefore makes walking impossible for the rest of the winter until later in the spring.

Har Ki Doon Valley is a cradle-shaped hanging valley in the Garhwal Himalayas. It is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and alpine flora. It is connected to the Baspa Valley via the Borasu Pass. This valley is snow-covered from October to March at an elevation of roughly 3500 metres above mean sea level.

The valley is around 25 kilometres away from Taluka. The trek begins in Taluka village and goes through Gangaad, Osala, and Seema to reach the valley. It's a two-day trip that's usually split into two halves. The first section is from Taluka to Seema/Osla, while the second stage is from Seema/Osla to Har Ki Dun. The route is the same on the way back.
