About Valley of Flowers
The breathtaking valley, which lies between 3300 and 3650 metres above sea level, is a nature lover's paradise. It stretches for about 6 kilometres from Bhuindhar village and covers an area of 87 square kilometres. The valley is abundant in flowers and has the world's largest array of wild flower plants. The river Pushpawati winds its way through the lush valley. From June to early September, the valley is ablaze with exotic flowers. The area was designated as a National Park in 1982, and there are approximately 520 species of flowering plants. This national park is home to Himalayan black bears, musk deer, brown bears, Bharal, and a diverse range of birds and butter flies.
