For Hindus, the Bhrigu Lake is a sacred lake; according to legend, Hindu Rishi Bhrigu used to meditate here, and the lake's water is likewise holy. The Bhrigu is 14,100 feet above sea level and lies east of the Rohtang Pass. During the winter, when the lake freezes, a thin white layer of snow forms over the surface, creating a glistering effect.

On the first day, you will be greeted at our hostel, Moustache Manali, and will feel the friendliness of the place. Check into your dorm room, which will be shared with the other trekkers and travellers. Enjoy yourself by immersing yourself in the hostel atmosphere and visiting the grounds. You may also go out and go café hopping; the Old Manali market has a lot of wonderful cafes where you can sample the German bakery and other delicacies. Return to the hostel in the late evening and savour the hot meals supplied before retiring for the night, since the true adventure begins the next day.
