Why is Kheerganga called Kheerganga?

Kheerganga, or Kheer Ganga, is a Ganga River (the Ganges River) that is as white as a Kheer (an Indian sweet dish made from milk and Rice) The milky waters of the river, as well as its cascades flowing into Parvati valley from all sides of the mountain, gave the river the name Kheerganga.
