Chadar Lake Trek

Chadar Lake Trek

The Chadar Trek, also known as the frozen river trek, is distinguished by its gradual and even ascent to a maximum altitude of 11,800 feet deep in the Himalayas! The journey begins in Leh, continues across the frozen Zanskar, and concludes in the Ladakh town of Chilling, the trek's actual starting point from where the frozen river trek begins. The Chadar trek covers 62 kilometres in total, which is evenly distributed over six days of walking. The Chadar trek is only available in January and February, when the emerald, flowing Zanskar river freezes enough to allow trekking.
