Kedarkantha Trek in January. Kedarkantha is a 12,500-foot mountain in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand. At any time of year, you can hike to the peak from the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary. Even in the winter, the entire trek route is about 23 kilometres long and is considered one of the easiest treks. The Kedarkantha trek should be planned in January if you want to trek in the snow.
The Kedarkantha trek starts in Sankri, a small village at 6,500 feet, and climbs to 12,500 feet. The route takes you through wide-open meadows, alpine forests, frozen lakes, and breathtaking campsites.
