Winter Treks through the Himalayas

The mighty Himalayan mountain range that stands magnificently in the north of the country is an image that is synonymous with Indian winter. Make sure to pack those backpacks and rucksacks to brave the cold and to reveal the beauty of the Himalayas, a great area to experience every bit of an adventure through the cold. To make the trip through the winter all the easier, the mountains are covered with epic trails and mesmerizing high-altitude lakes. It's time to wear your winter wear and coats for a winter tour of the impressive Himalayas.

Owing to the vastness of the mountain range, there are plenty of us who are clueless about some of the regions to explore. Here are a few places and trails to follow when holding your winter rucksacks and backpacks loaded with your winter wear and accessories as you make your way through the snow.

Kedarkantha Trek is one of the most scenic trails to pursue through the winter, lying deep within Uttarakhand. We recommend fastening your hiking boots and going out at the end of the year, coated in snow during the months of December and January. As you watch the stars come alive at Kedarkantha Trekking, set up tents and spread out your winter sleeping bags. Temperatures drop to single digits and in the negative space occasionally, so make sure you wear winter coats and husky jackets when you're in the cold. Witness some wonderful panoramic views of the mountain range while also heading to the top through some pristine forests.

Har Ki Dun will be another village we say. This place is also situated in the same vicinity as Kedarkantha, and is like an amphitheater for the gods. Pack your winter wear and gear for a cold winter as you explore the surrounding areas and eventually arrive in the quaint little town high up in the mountains. As you dig through the snow and roam through open flower fields while hiking through the area, tighten your winter boots. When going up into the mountains where the strength of the sun tends to increase and to battle the falling temperatures, be sure to bring gloves, caps and balaclavas. All in all, a perfect place for the winter to feel and capture the cold.

For an adventure through the ice, pack your winter wear and gear. As it is also called, experience the Ice Sheet Trek and track the frozen Zanskar River as it meanders through the Ladakh valleys and peaks. Don't forget to pack your wind cheaters, winter coats and boots while exploring the vast areas of Ladakh, lying within the formidable Himalayas. Temperatures may drop very low, hitting the side of the scale that is negative. With the necessary accessories and gear, head out into the cold while preparing them for the long haul in your backpacks and rucksacks.

This season, face the cold head and get out to catch the cold. With the right winter gear and winter wear, it's the season to cover up and keep safe. This is the season to go out and hunt for your winter.
